About the Author
Lucas DeAndreis
Lucas DeAndreis was born in San Mateo, California in 1996.
Growing up, surprisingly, Lucas wasn’t the biggest writer or reader. In fact, It was his worst subject. His mother would put him in extra reading classes in elementary school every year in hopes of getting him interested but it just wasn’t clicking. Lucas only liked sports, especially soccer, which was his passion during childhood. It wasn’t until his mother bought him the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan for Christmas one year before things began to turn. He was immediately engrossed in the world and fell in love with the characters which would lead to becoming interested in other authors’ work. He started getting into Tolkien, Neil Gaiman, and Stephen King to name a few and it would only be a matter of time before he wished to write his own story.
Lucas started writing his first book, Light of the Mortal God, in college. He had an interesting idea for a story while walking to class one day so after it was over he went straight to the library and started writing the book before the thoughts faded away. It started out as only a hobby. At the time, Lucas didn’t care where it would lead or if anyone would read it. He just liked the feeling it felt to create something new that he could be proud of. He would take time every day to write a small chunk at a time, and before he knew it the book was all done and ready to publish. And he would continue this over the years with the next two books in the Galaxy Overload series, The Dark Wand and Battle for Alara. And also his recent children’s book, The Space Prince, which he is super excited about.
Beyond writing Lucas harbors a long passion for sports. He loves playing pick-up basketball games at the gym, soccer at the park, and golf sometimes on the weekends. He also loves playing the piano which he just recently has taken up as a hobby. Whenever he gets the time, he also likes to learn more about space and astrophysics which was always his favorite subject growing up in school and is usually a common theme in his writing.
He currently resides in Foster City, California, as a financial data analyst, where he plans to continue writing every day for his enjoyment. He currently resides in Foster City, California, as a financial data analyst, where he plans to continue writing every day for his enjoyment.
